【禁闻】艾未未成华媒言论自由试金石

【新唐人2011年4月21日讯】北京艺术家艾未未被抓后,中共官方媒体不断对他�行抹
黑和攻击,而对于港澳和海外的华文媒体,艾未未似乎也成为了言论自由的试金石。

香港的《文汇报》连续一个星期每天发表文章抹黑艾未未。《文汇报》19号再以"廿四
味:假艺术家的真面目"为题,批判艾未未。

这篇批评艾未未的文章刊登后,香港、大陆及美国都有网民留言评论。有大陆网民对《
文汇报》的连番"举动"感到失望,呼吁港人要像保护自己的眼睛一样,保护香港自由制
度。也有网民表示,香港《文汇报》言论一向紧贴中共的政策,就好像大陆在港植根的
媒体报章。

而全球对艾未未的报导,似乎也成为鉴别媒体是否受到中共言论控制影响的试金石。

"BBC中文网";"德国之声中文网";"中时电子报";"大纪元时报";"世界日报";"自由
时报";"自由亚洲";"苹果日报"等中文媒体普遍报导了艾未未家属的声音,和各国支
持者为了营救艾未未所举行的活动。

艾未未被抓后,西方国家对「中国人权」的批评达到新的高潮。与此同时,更多的人以
行为艺术,或者媒体艺术声援艾未未。

国际艺术界也发起签名连署,据了解,目前已有六万多人参加。其中更包含古根汉美术
馆(Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum andFoundation )、纽约现代美术馆(MoMA)、
伦敦泰特现代美术馆(Tate Modern)等国际重要美术馆参与连署。

纽约市约有200群众,4月17号聚集中共领事馆,参加了"给艾未未的1001张椅子"活动。
这是由美国艺术组织CreativeTime在全球发起的,已获得全球各地许多民众的响应,他
们在同一天下午1点带着椅子,到当地的中国大使馆或中国办事处前静坐,声援释放艾
未未。

而由美国独立记录片制作人 Alison Klayman(陈爱丽)操刀的艾未未记录片《 Ai
Weiwei : NeverSorry》(艾未未:永不后悔),也将于数周后面世。影片记录艾未未过去
两年多的艺术创作,及社会维权事项,包括四川大地震遇难学生名单调查、为四川作家
谭作人作证而被公安殴打等。电影资料片段长达200多个小时。

Klayman在纽约接受美国《华尔街日报》采访时说,在拍摄这部记录片的过程中艾未未
曾亲身解说「他所面临的危险及风险」,Klayman表示「这些话现在看来,尤其有先见
之明」。

艾未未4月3号在北京机场被警察带走,至今下落不明,家属对外表示没有收到正式的拘
捕通知。而艾未未被捕后,中共官媒《新华社》,和《北京日报》声称:"艾未未因涉
嫌经济犯罪,公安机关目前正在依法对他�行调查。"而《文汇报》、《大公报》则报
导:艾未未涉嫌逃漏税、重婚罪和网路散播淫秽物品等罪,正在接受当局的调查和控制
中。

Ai Weiwei - A Touchstone for Free Press

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP)'s media keptdefaming Ai Weiwei after his
detention.He has become a touchstone for press to mediaoverseas, including
Hong Kong and Macau.

Defamatory news appeared on Hong Kong'sWen Wei Po everyday for a week, such
as"The True Face of a Phony Artists" from April 19.

Netizens' comments and disappointmentsfollowed the Wen Wei Po article.They
urged the Hong Kong people to protectthe liberal social system in Hong
Kongas they do their eyes. Some netizens commented,that Wen Wei Po has been
so close to the CCPas if it is a subordinate to the CCP in Hong Kong.

The reports on Ai Weiwei by international mediahave become the touchstone
of free pressfor juding whether media are controlled by the CCP.

BBC Chinese Net, Deutsche Welle, China Times,The Epoch Times, World
Journal, Liberty Times,Radio Free Asia and Apple Daily have publishednews
on Ai's family and the international supportand global activities to rescue
Ai.

Western critiques on China's human rightsreached a new height after Ai
Weiwei's arrest.More are supporting him via action art or media art.

60,000 in international circles signed for his support,including elite
international art galleries such asSolomon R. Guggenheim Museum and
Foundation,MoMa and Tate Modern in London.

About 200 volunteers gatheredat the Chinese Consulate in New Yorkfor the
"1001 Chairs for Ai Weiwei" activityon April 17. It was initiated by U.S.'
Creative Time.but is well received globally. People take a chairwith them,
sitting in front of a Chinese Embassyor Consulate at 1:00 pm on this day to
support Ai.

The documentary "Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry"filmed by independent film maker
Alison Klaymanwill be released in a few weeks, telling storiesabout Ai's
arts and human right deeds,such as the investigation of student death
tollin the Wenchuan earthquake and Ai being beatenfor testifying for
Sichuan writer Tan Zuoren.

Klayman said to WSJ, that once Ai Weiweisaid to her about the "dangers and
risks he faces,"and his concerns were proved to beso visionary afterwards.

Ai's whereabouts is not known after he wastaken away by police at Beijing
airport on April 4.The official media Xinhua and Beijing Dailyclaimed Ai
Weiwei committed economic crimesand is now under legal investigation.The
pro-CCP media Wen Wei Po and Ta Kung Paosaid, that Ai was detained for
alleged tax evasion,bigamy and spread of pornographic materials online.
