【禁闻】艾未未迄今下落不明 国际社会关注

【新唐人2011年4月6日讯】4月3号从首都机场被带走的著名艺术家艾未未,至今下落不
明。他的八名助手被带到警察局问话。英、美、德、法等国,都对艾未未被带走事件表
示关注。国际特赦在网站中发表声明说,艾未未被拘留,是中共在过去几个月以来关押
多名异议人士行动的�一步升级。

艾未未带着助手刘艳萍准备去香港参加一个艺术会议,之后再去台北参加艺术活动,并
洽谈个人艺术展。但是在首都机场,两人被机场人员分开,改走不同通道,随后刘艳萍
和艾未未失去联系。艾未未事先有预感,告诉刘艳萍,如果发生意外,请她按计划抵达
香港并告知外界。

当天警方将艾未未工作室的八名工作人员带到南皋派出所。据说至今仍有两三人没有被
释放。警方在工作室搜查6个小时,抄走所有工作电脑和几台个人电脑,约三十台。有
外媒记者到场采访被便衣阻止,照片被删除。

警方搜查时拒绝出示搜查许可,也没有留下被抄走的物品清单。

艾未未的律师刘晓原表示,目前仍不知道艾未未被哪个部门警察抓走,不知道关押在何
处。他说按照法律规定,警方抓人四十八小时之内必须给家属一个正式通知。

刘晓原:「因为今天到上午四十八个小时就到了。看看公安机关到底有什么,会不会要
通知他家人。那么从法律上来说,一个人被公安机关采取强制措施,是可以聘请律师
的,现在还在等消息吧。看看今天的情况怎么样。」

据了解,过去连续三天,有朝阳分局警察上门盘查艾未未身份,声称是对在京外籍人员
�行普查登记。

尽管艾未未此前也曾受到四川警察的殴打,和北京警方的警告,他在上海的工作室今年
一月也被强拆,但是他本人还不曾被正式拘留。这次「机场失踪」是否会演变成刑事拘
留甚至判刑,国内外舆论十分关注。

艾未未曾经担任电视剧「北京人在纽约」的副导演,以及北京奥运场馆「鸟巢」的设计
顾问,并在国外多次举办过艺术展。近年来,他积极参与国内的维权行动,并毫不顾忌
的批评上海当局对杀警「杨佳」审判不公。另外,他还支持助手深入汶川调查豆腐渣工
程和学生死亡人数,并亲自赶赴成都,为四川环保维权人士谭作人的庭审作证,结果被
警方殴打至脑部重伤。

国际社会对艾未未被抓表示关切。美国国务院发言人周一(4日)敦促中国(共)政府
立即释放艾未未。

英国外相黑格说,他对艾未未的被捕感到非常关注,希望中国(共)政府能够尽快说明
艾未未的情况,并希望他能得到立即的释放。

德国外长韦斯特韦勒敦促中国(共)立即放人,并就事件做出解释。法国外交部发言人
瓦莱罗(BernardValero)也发表声明说,法国非常担忧艾未未的命运,并密切关注他和
家人的情况。

Missing Ai Weiwei: An International Concern

Renowned artist Ai Weiwei remains out of reachsince his April 3arrest, with
8 of his assistantsquestioned by police. Concerns voiced in U.S.,UK,
Germany and France have risen.Amnesty International proclaimed the arrestof
Ai Weiwei too. The intensity of dissentactivities in China has reached a
new level.

Accompanied by his assistant Liu,Ai was going to a Hong Kong Art
Conferencefollowed by a visit to Taipei for his art exhibition,They got
separated by airport staff to followdifferent routes, after which contact
was lostbetween them. Ai had prior told Liu thatif something were to
happen, to go to Hong Kongand tell the truth to the public.

Eight of his assistants were takento the Nan police office, three of whom
remaindetained. Police searched his studio for hoursconfiscating 30 works
and personal computers.Foreign reporters were removed from the sceneby
plainclothes and had their photos deleted.

Police refused to show proof of identitywhen coming to search and did not
leeve a listof the items they took away.

Xiaoyuan Liu, Ai's lawyer, said that it remainsunknown which police
officers took him,nor where he is. According to the law police mustinform
the family within 48 hours of the arrest.

Liu: "It will be 48 hours until this morning,so let's see if they will
inform Ai's family.According to the law, one has the rightto summon a
lawyer when forcefully arrested.Let's wait for news today."

It is also said that in the past 3 days police cameto him for identity
information, claiming thatit was for registration of non-Beijing residents.

Ai had never been detained in previous attacksand warnings by Sichuan and
Beijing police,even though his Shanghai studio was illegallydemolished.
Will this airport arrest evolveinto criminal detention or
sentence?International and domestic media are watching.

Ai was assistant director in TV series 『Beijinger'in New York and the
design consultantof Beijing National Stadium, which also hostedmany
international art exhibitions. He has takenpart proactively in human rights
activitiesand criticized fearlessly the Shanghai authoritieson the unjust
sentence of Yang Jia. Hehas been supportive to his assistants going
toWenchuan to investigate the students casualtiesand the shoddy buildings.
He also personallyflew to Chengdu to testify for Zuoren Tan,another human
rights activist, when Ai's headwas severely injured in a police attack.

On April 4 U.S. State Department Spokesmanurged the Chinese authorities to
free Ai Weiweiimmediately, refering to international concerns.

British Foreign Secretary William Haguealso expressed concern over Ai's
arrest, urgingthe Chinese regime to release Aiand give reasonable
explanation on the case.

German Foreign Minister too urged Chinato release Ai Weiwei and to offer an
explanation.Same concerns were conveyed by the FrenchForeign Spokesman,
Bernard Valero, who saidthat he is worried about Ai's family as well.
